The Unconscious Mind Gives A Person

The “unconscious” mind gives a person visions and dreams which convey important meaning, and aboriginal tribal peoples used dreams to know what can’t be known using the more modern rational-verbal mind and the retentive memory.

The most creative researchers use the “unconscious” mind to proceed when there’s no other guide.

The “unconscious” produces visual images of forms familiar to the person. These forms are assembled in a meaningful way to the dreamer or visionary person. The problem is how to best interpret the dream.

There’s the literal interpretation of the story and the symbolic or metaphorical interpretation of the story.

Like an hour ago just before I awoke I dreamed that a Native American and I went to his home in the dry interior, and he showed me his valley and his house and his huge electrical power transformer. I asked him who used the power and who lived on his vast landed estate. He confided in me that his was the only house, and that the huge reservoir of electricity wasn’t being used by anyone but himself. I woke up soon after and I thought I might try presenting my research to some local Native Americans but I’ve tried that several times and no lead has ever really opened up. The Native American persons who were most interested in my work have moved out of this area.

Creative people tap into this “unconscious” power supply but the “unconscious” has to be controlled and managed. And a creative person has to produce services, articles or other items which other people value. He must learn enough sophisticated technique and style to please those who buy such products. And the time when a person learns the fastest is in early youth. Once the person has matured to become a dynamo of productivity, he’s generating a lot more and being a student less.

At night while asleep the mind produces a series of images which may tell a story. After wakening the dreamer may not take time to remember and reflect on his dream. The culture might not value personal dreams and visions. If the culture doesn’t make a lot of good use out of personal dreams and visions, then it’s like my dream showed me: there’s a huge dynamo in the culture (wilderness) which isn’t being used. Relatively speaking, it’s still a primitive culture. The “wilderness” image conveys this idea.

Native American cultures used dreams and visions but many Native American youths of today just are adopting the White Man’s ways. So in my dream this Indian “guide” was just helping me say to you what you wanted to know about my research on schizophrenia and creativity. By presenting this dream to you and interpreting as best I can, I help you understand better what my research is about.

Civilizations have all been alike in the way that each civilization has grown by killing off many and absorbing many of the local and distant tribal peoples and remaking other ethnic groups into carbon copies of itself. It’s like the mark of the Beast in the vision of Saint John. Everyone who wants to be recognized as somebody just learns to think, act, and feel the way the most successful persons in the dominant culture think, act, and feel.

Today, hundreds of ethnic stocks have all grown together and much tribal lore has been lost. It’s been replaced by the modern sci-tech cultural mindset of materialism. Today, in so many nations, the youth who are the most “hip” all want to be Westernized or Americanized. But in America itself, the missing dynamic, the dynamo hidden in the wilderness, the creative mind, is left out in elementary and secondary schools. There’s this “unconscious”, “I have a dream” mind, which has inspired a few persons, the revolutionaries, but fewer and fewer families these days are raising revolutionary minds. Populations grow faster than the inspired charitable persons can provide for. Non-profit organizations proliferate but the situation for the poor isn’t really improving, and the poor keep getting more numerous.

The world really needs a new creativity-and-health-promoting research, but in face-to-face presentations I don’t impress. I can give a program of art, music, poetry and other recited writings with the help of more capable non-socially handicapped theater arts persons. But my efforts to genuinely interest local theater arts people haven’t succeeded. And I’ve not known where else to go. It’s been very hard for me to get face-to-face appointments with people.

It’s been written that in a schizophrenic episode the “unconscious” over-rides the rational-verbal conscious mind and that the schizophrenic is interpreting wakeful existence as a dream. Objects and persons take on an added meaning. Real experiences aren’t accepted at face value and what happens takes on a special meaning. Rather than just dreaming of some fairy tale, one becomes a player actor in a fairy tale. And usually no one is willing to play along with your fairy tale. But a few inspired persons have started new cultures. These unusual persons were accepted as gods, as God’s messenger, or as God Himself. But rather than more mythology about the mind, humans need more science of the mind. My work is of great help in this regard.

The “unconscious” mind or supermind is a vast inner resource in children and in adults. The Hindus have called this Krishna, the Reservoir of Pleasure. From culture to culture the popular myth varies, but in every case, the mythology is just the product of a synthetic process or inspiration. It’s this synthesis which was so therapeutic to the society which grew out of the weakened and suffering society in which the “unconscious” produced the new story image or dream. Usually just one inspired person started the new culture.

More important than any particular body of created works is the therapeutic process itself. One would hope to define this process and use it to improve the physical health, the mental health, and the productivity of persons who presently by the millions are chronically unhealthy and unproductive.

In my articles and in my books and websites I use old images and mythical characters to help present the new idea of the mind-brain as a computing device which uses the continuum of space-time rather than the 0-1 binary code of the invented calculators and computers. This distinction between the 0-1 logic and the logic of the continuum is very elementary and basic.

There’s an essential difference between figuring using the continuum model and figuring using a set of discrete choices as in the yes-no, zero-one, or multivalued logic of “N” choices. No matter how many categories of “N” choices you specify, you’re still stuck with isolated points. In the logic of the continuum, there’s not this limitation. More choices are available. The liberated thought process is able to come up with ideas which are new and different. This is the creative mind, the nonverbal “higher” insightful mind of the innovative thinker.

Everyone gets flashes of insight. But some persons have learned to be remarkably inspired. The best idea helps each person become inspired. Then the knowledge in each person gets put to a “higher” use. I don’t have your education and your memories! You yourself have memories, but you may not be inspired to share them or make of them some new inventions.

There are courses on “synectics,” “brainstorming” and “creativity” on tape, in books, and in digital format. These courses can help you become more creative! But the full human potential offers you more, on top of all these good courses.

If you study synectics, brainstorming and creativity, so that you loosen up your thinking and you’re ready to learn more, a good college can help you study mathematical language and master numbers, logic, and the continuum. This might take you three years of study. Then you would be more able to appreciate the arguments in my theory. The study takes time. And you might not have the time, since you’re already mature, and people expect you to get to work and support yourself. So if this research of mine is valid, in the future more young people are going to be taught more theoretical mathematics. Mathematics will be taught to aspiring medical students, and to aspiring politicians, psychologists, and other leaders.

When a person is in a serious predicament in life, he’s like a lion that has fallen into a deep well, and if he can’t claw his way out of the well, he’ll access his “higher intelligence” if he can. In real life, children aren’t taught a theory of higher intelligence or inspiration, and how to develop into a more creative person. But a person whose problems are too great for professional counselors and professional doctors to solve is really like a lion which has fallen into a deep well. Some personal problems can only be solved by “God”. And since some cures have seemed to be miraculous, the secret of these cures when understood, could be of help in curing millions more persons whom the experts can’t really cure.

The hardest problems are solved by individuals who have accessed the higher intelligence and coordinated this intelligence with rational-verbal intelligence. Life is a hard problem for a chronically handicapped and sick man. To solve his life’s main problem he’ll need to access the “Higher Power”. Once this is done, and his “schizophrenia” is controlled, he may be able to help some other chronically distressed persons who are bright enough and intuitive enough to denote some time to associating with him and interacting with him on a regular basis.

Some expects in medicine or in modern intelligence theory might wish to do the same if they knew his work existed. Even a creative researcher gets blocked from time to time, unless he or she is a “god” or as a “genius”. All this antiquated language shows our collective ignorance of how the hard-working creative mind works harder than most minds can.

Our language games can be confusing and destructive. “Schizophrenia” is just a word for “God-intoxicated”. The present treatment for mental illness is not the best method. The “There’s a better way to do it... find it!” attitude of Thomas Edison needs to be cultured in more medical scientists. In this regard, I can definitely be of help. As a dynamic thinker, researcher, and helper, I need to be moved out of the wilderness of Humboldt County, or I need to be incorporated into an existing organization in Humboldt County, so that my abilities can be put to more good use, as I receive some help in making my better art, music, and writings available for others to study or enjoy.
